Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has congratulated Pakistani premier Imran Khan on the occasion of his country’s national day.
“The Hamas Movement and the Palestinian people like to share with you the happiness of this glorious occasion and commemorate together Pakistan’s pioneering achievements and the distinguished success in all fields” Haneyya said in a message sent to the Pakistani leader.
“We’d like to seize this opportunity to express to Your Excellency our deep thanks and pride over Pakistan’s honorable positions in support of our people’s rights and their just cause” the Hamas leader added.
He expressed his hope that Pakistan would continue its supportive positions for the Palestinian people so that they could achieve their aspirations for the liberation of their land from the occupation and the establishment of their state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Pakistan marks its national day on March 23 to commemorate the 1940 resolution for the establishment of an independent homeland for the Muslims of the then British India.
