Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has urged the Palestinians in the West Bank to turn the areas around the settlements into flashpoints with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
Haneyya made his remarks on Sunday in a statement marking 100 days since the start of the Beita town protests against the illegal settler outpost on Mount Sobeih.
Haneyya called on the West Bank people to rise up and rally around their compatriots in Beita and turn all the arenas of popular confrontation with the IOF into nighttime protests similar to the daily rallies taking place in Beita town.
“The engagement of the Beita villagers in Nablus in their uprising for 100 days reflects a national awareness about the need to confront the occupation and its settlement projects and reflects the Palestinian people’s ability to practice and develop their right to popular resistance” the Hamas political leader said.
He paid special tribute to the Beita villagers for defending the land and making sacrifices for the national rights on behalf of the entire Palestinian people.
