Haneyya warns against normalization in letters sent to heads of state

Thursday 24-December-2020

Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has condemned the steps taken in recent months by Arab countries to normalize relations with the Israeli occupation state as “a major political sin.”

In letters sent to leaders of more than 30 Arab and Islamic countries Haneyya described the recent normalization steps as “harmful to the Muslim nation’s interests and national security a grave threat to the Palestinian cause and a treacherous stab in the back of the Palestinian people and the nation.”

“The current wave of normalization has taken place as the Zionist terrorism and aggression against our land and people are escalating and the unjust blockade on the Gaza Strip is ongoing and as the occupation persists in executing its criminal schemes” the Hamas political chief said.

Some of the Israeli violations he outlined in the letter were settlement expansion land annexation and confiscation the Judaization of Jerusalem the attempts to divide the Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially the obliteration of Arab Islamic and Christian landmarks and demolition and displacement campaigns.

He also called the Arab normalization of ties with the occupation state as “a breach of the Arab and Islamic consensus and a violation of the resolutions that had been issued by the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.”

“The Zionist occupation has always been the common enemy of the entire Arab and Muslim nations” Haneyya underlined.
