Hamas leader Abdul Hakim Hanini denounced Sunday’s mass break-ins carried out by fanatic Israel settlers at Jerusalem’s holy al-Aqa Mosque saying the Palestinian people and resistance will not remain mum over such violations.
Hanini said the sacrilegious assaults launched by Israeli settlers at al-Aqsa Mosque represent a provocation to the sentiments of Muslims across the globe.
He said the break-ins which flared up shortly after Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu green-lighted visits by members of the Knesset to the site will trigger unabated tensions.
Hanini called on the Palestinian masses to stand on guard to such assaults and to intensify presence at the site.
He further called for a mass anti-occupation uprising across the occupied Palestinian territories in response to Israel’s terrorism.
“Israel should bear in mind that al-Aqsa is a red line” he warned. “We will ever allow Israel to subvert the status quo.”
