Hariri Hamas officials discuss issues of mutual interest in Beirut

Lebanese premier Saad al-Hariri on Thursday met with a high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk at the Grand Serail in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The meeting was attended by senior Hamas officials and chairman of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee Hasan Mneimneh.

Abu Marzouk congratulated Hariri on his initiative that brought Lebanon back on the political map and on the formation of the government.

He briefed him on the previous inter-Palestinian meetings which Lebanon hosted and the Palestinian agreement to hold a conference for the new National Council.

In press remarks following the meeting Abu Marzouk stated that the Hamas delegation discussed with the premier the situations in the Lebanese and Palestinian arenas the civil rights of the Palestinians and the Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue.

The Hamas official also said that the meeting was an opportunity to talk about the security and political situation in Lebanon and the situation in the Palestinian camps.

“We agreed on issues that would enforce Lebanon’s security and unity in addition to the Palestinian-Lebanese cooperation and the stability and security of the Palestinian camps” he added.
