Lebanese premier Saad al-Hariri has welcomed the recent developments regarding the Palestinian reconciliation between the movements of Hamas and Fatah.
In a press release on Wednesday Hariri expressed hope that these developments would constitute a real step on the road to achieving the comprehensive Palestinian unity and establishing the Palestinian state with its capital in east Jerusalem.
“The blessed step of reconciliation which has been realized thanks to Egyptian efforts has come to turn over a decade of division and divergence between the two parties. Hopefully it will bode well for Palestine its people and the Arab nation” the Lebanese premier said.
He urged the leaders of Hamas and Fatah to take further steps that would strengthen and consolidate the climate of reconciliation and restore mutual confidence in response to the Palestinian people’s aspirations.
