Member of the Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya on Friday said that Israel backed by the US administration is attempting to liquidate central issues of the Palestinian cause.
Al-Hayya told the PIC reporter that Hamas and the Palestinian people totally reject the US decision to recognize the “unified Jerusalem” as Israel’s capital and its plan to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
Al-Hayya slammed the US for turning a blind eye to Israel’s escalating settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories and denounced its attempts to consolidate Israeli sovereignty over the Palestinian holy sites including Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas official pointed out that these plans are not the first of their kind calling for supporting the Palestinians in Jerusalem politically and financially to strengthen their steadfastness against the occupation.
He affirmed that Hamas and the Palestinian people will make every possible effort to resist peace projects like “the deal of the century” and “the alternative homeland” which are aimed at harming the Palestinian cause.
