Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Khalil al-Hayya has denied that his Movement has received an overture for a long-term truce with the Israeli occupation or held discussions over this issue.
“We deny that we have received a proposal over a long-term truce or discussed in the internal corridors [of the Movement] anything in this regard. We do not want to hear such thing because the occupation did not respect a simple armistice or understandings” Hayya stated in televised remarks on Tuesday.
The Hamas official warned that if the Israeli blockade persisted an explosion would inevitably happen.
“We will not let the blockade remain this way. The besieging parties must understand and realize the serious consequences and bear responsibility for their siege because we will not tolerate seeing our people die” he said.
