Member of Hamas’s political bureau Khalil al-Hayya has expressedhis belief that there are Egyptian intentions to alleviate the blockade on theGaza Strip after it reflected that through allowing many passengers to travelthrough the Rafah border crossing recently.
Hayya made his remarks during a memorial service held forthree martyrs from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas on Saturday evening in Khan Younistown south of Gaza.
The Hamas official also expressed his Movement’s hope thatthere would be more Egyptian steps to ease the siege on Gaza in light of Israel’srestrictions on the entry of cargo trucks.
The Egyptian authorities recently opened the Rafah crossingfor seven days which enabled a large number of passengers to travel from andto Gaza.
