Health Ministry: Two other toddlers might die in coming hours

Wednesday 28-June-2017

Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza Strip held the Palestinian Authority (PA) accountable for the death of three babies earlier Tuesday after denying them urgent treatment warning that two other toddlers might face the same fate in the coming hours.

Spokesman for the Ministry Ashraf al-Qudra said that Israel and the PA share the same moral responsibility towards the people of Gaza who are in desperate need for medical treatment outside the besieged Strip.

He appealed for urgent action to stop “this inhuman crime against the besieged people in Gaza before it is too late.”

Earlier Tuesday three toddlers were pronounced dead in Gaza in less than 24 hours after the PA denied them urgent treatment.

Two other babies he identified them as Rashed and Mohamed might die in the next few hours if no urgent action was taken.

The National Movement for Breaking the Siege on Gaza also warned that more deaths might be recorded in the near future in light of the serious shortage of essential drugs and medical supplies.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry the reluctance maintained by the PA claimed the lives of nine patients among whom three babies since the start of 2017.
