Health ministry sends shipment of medical needs to Gaza

The Palestinian ministry of health on Tuesday sent truckloads of different medical supplies and baby milk from its central warehouses in Nablus to the Gaza Strip.

In a news conference held on Tuesday in Nablus minister of health Jawad Awad announced the dispatch of a convoy of 38 trucks laden with medical needs and baby milk in addition to a refrigerator truck to the health ministry warehouses in Gaza adding that the supplies cost around four million dollars.

“This shipment includes medicines for patients with cancer hemophilia diabetes and skin diseases as well as painkillers antibiotics dialysis solutions intravenous solutions special supplies for heart surgery and catheterization surgical sutures for operating rooms dental items and other stuff for neurological surgery and eye treatment” Awad explained.

“The shipment also includes laboratory items for medical tests dialysis filters and milk for baby children’ he added.

Recently the health ministry in Gaza said that the stockrooms of the health ministry hospitals in Gaza were 47 percent short of basic medicines and medical items.
