The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that 98 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the besieged enclave in the past 24 hours.
The ministry warned in a statement on Thursday that the increase points to the seriousness of the situation of the pandemic in the Gaza Strip. It should be noted that this is the highest daily number since the outbreak of the disease in the besieged enclave.
According to the ministry’s coronavirus daily report and as reported to the PIC the number of people tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours was 1421.
The total number of coronavirus cases since March has increased to 581 out of which 500 are active including 463 among the population and 37 among passengers who recently returned to Gaza from abroad and remained in quarantine while the total number of recovered patients reached 76.
The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic reached 5 including 4 among the population and 1 among passengers who recently returned to Gaza.
The ministry also emphasized that the citizens must comply with the instructions stay at home and only go out for emergencies while wearing the mask wash their hands and maintain a safe distance from others adding that the situation of the pandemic in Gaza Strip is still out of control.
