NAZARETH (PIC)– Hebrew sources revealed on Monday that a state of anxiety was prevailing in Israeli intelligence circles of possible Hamas’s acquirement of anti-aircraft missiles.
The research department in the Israeli army intelligence apparatus alleged that Hamas possesses at least 50 long-range Katyusha rockets and more than 20 anti-aircraft missiles capable of hitting Israeli choppers.
The Hebrew Ma’ariv newspaper also alleged that Hamas owns tens of anti-tank missiles capable of piercing Israeli armored vehicles in addition to hundreds of RPG rockets with double explosive head capable of partially destroying Israeli tanks.
Hamas Movement refuses to divulge any of its armed wing’s secrets but underlined that a big chunk of its weaponry was home made.
In a related matter the Islamic Jihad Movement fired a homemade missile at Askelon city inside the 1948-occupied lands and unleashed mortar shells at the Israeli settlement of Sderot and IOF positions in Kerem Shalom.
According to a military communiqué issued by the group’s armed wing the attacks were in retaliation to the Israeli killing of one of the group’s military commanders in Gaza city Sunday.
