A delegation of the Gaza Strip-based group Islamic Jihad Movement arrived on Monday in Moscow for talks with Russian officials.
The visit comes upon an invitation from Russian Foreign Ministry the group’s media office said in a statement.
The delegation is led by the group’s deputy secretary-general Ziyad al-Nakhla and includes members of its political bureau Mohammad al-Hindi and Anwar Abu Taha.
The discussions will focus on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories the statement clarified.
“We are keen on refuting the Israeli claims and underlining our stance on restoring national rights” the statement said.
“The visit comes to discuss conspiracies aimed at undermining the rights of the Palestinian people particularly U.S. attempts to impose its vision that disregards the historical rights of the Palestinian people” it added.
