Senior Islamic Jihad official Mohamed al-Hindi has strongly denounced the government of Rami al-Hamdallah for justifying its decision to slash the salaries of its employees in the Gaza Strip.
“I do not think that cutting the salaries of Gaza employees are due to a financial crisis in Ramallah. All the arguments that were provided by the government were unconvincing” Hindi told al-Aqsa satellite channel on Friday.
“If there was a financial crisis in salaries why is it only at the expense of Gaza without the West Bank?” he underlined.
Consequently markets and stores in Gaza suffered a slump in sales after the government in Ramallah decided to cut salaries paid to Gaza employees by 30-50 percent at the pretext it had financial hardships.
