Palestinian human rights sources on Tuesday reported that one-third of the Jerusalemites who have been detained over the past five days were minors.
Head of the Jerusalem Committee for Families of Prisoners Amjad Abu Asab said that since 6th December nearly 50 Palestinians have been arrested in the Israeli occupation forces’ (IOF) quelling of demonstrations and protests against the US Jerusalem move.
Abu Asab explained that one-third of those detainees were under the age of 17 noting that they were severely beaten during their arrest.
He affirmed that many of the detainees were injured either due to being assaulted or shot during the protests. The latest detainee was the 19-year-old Mousa Kadmani who was arrested during clashes with the IOF on Monday then transferred for treatment at the Israeli Shaare Zedek hospital.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society 15 Palestinian citizens were injured after being beaten or attacked with rubber bullets and tear gas canisters in the protests that have flared up during the same period in Jerusalem.
