Hundreds of researchers attend symposium on post war Gaza

AMMAN (PIC)– More than one hundred scientists intellectuals and academics will participate Sunday in a symposium entitled “The battle of Gaza  … What next” in Amman to discuss 15 research papers focussing on the implications of the battle fought by the Palestinian resistance in the Strip its strategic results and its political economic media and security dimensions.

The symposium which is organized by the center for middle east studies in cooperation with the union of Jordanian engineers addresses the features of post-war Gaza and gives readings of the strategic shift of the legitimacy of the resistance and the leadership of Hamas in the Palestinian power balance.

The participants will provide strategic analysis of the nature orientations and results of the Israeli war in addition to shaping the future over the next two years in light of the war’s outcome.

The speakers at the symposium will include Mousa Abu Marzouk the deputy head of the Hamas political bureau Wael Al-Saka the dean of Jordanian engineers and Jawad Al-Hamad the director of middle east studies center.

In another context the international conference on Israel’s crimes against humanity kicked off Saturday in Rabat in the attendance of representatives of Palestinian and international organizations concerned with law and human rights in addition to international lawyers experts in international law and eyewitnesses to the war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

The conference aims to prepare studies and legal researches on war atrocities and crimes against humanity committed against civilians in Gaza and to discuss ways to make practical use of international human rights and legal moves calling for the trial of Israeli political and military leaders responsible for the war crimes in Gaza.

The conference also is intended to coordinate efforts between various active sides and international legal bodies to prepare files documenting the Israeli crimes in Gaza in order to prove the responsibility of the perpetrators for these crimes and prosecute them in European courts and the international criminal court.
