ARISH (PIC)– Hundreds of Palestinian students patients and workers abroad have appealed to Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to allow them travel back to their universities jobs and hospitals.
The Palestinians who have been staging a sit-in for six days now asked for permission to proceed from Arish to Cairo airport in order to return to where they had been studying working or receiving treatment.
The Egyptian authorities did not stamp the passports of those Palestinians and asked them to wait where they continued their sit-in before the northern Sinai governorate.
A responsible source in Hamas Movement told PIC that the Movement was holding intensified contacts with the Egyptian government to allow those citizens to travel along with its efforts to maintain the Rafah crossing open to facilitate travel of Gazans at all times.
