Hunger striker Khalil Awawdeh moved to hospital

The Israeli prison authorities moved the Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh who has been on hunger strike for the 100th consecutive day Friday from the Ramle prison clinic to a civilian hospital on Thursday night.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PSS) affirmed that Awawdeh was transferred to a civilian hospital after serious deterioration in his health condition.

Earlier Thursday a number of prisoners in Ofer prison declared a set of protest steps in support of the hunger strikers Khalil Awawdeh and Raed Rayan.

Awawdeh a father of four children from Idhna village in Khalil has been held under administrative detention since December 2021.

He is an ex-prisoner and had participated in the 2012 mass hunger strike launched by the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Awawdeh suffers from persistent headache joint pains emaciation extreme fatigue irregular heartbeats and breathing and frequent vomiting of blood.
