Lawyer of the Palestinian prisoner Rizq al-Rjoub 60 who has been on hunger strike for 18 days now on Tuesday said that Rjoub’s health condition is increasingly deteriorating.
Rizq’a son Ahmad al-Rjoub said quoting his father’s lawyer who visited him on Monday that Rizq can barely move and goes to the toilet with great difficulty. He added that his father has lost so much weight and is suffering from dizziness breathing difficulties and severe pains in the abdomen.
Ahmad al-Rjoub told the PIC reporter that his father refused to undergo medical examination or take any medicine and is determined to end his administrative detention. Rizq told his lawyer “It is either freedom or death.”
Detainee Rjoub has been held in solitary confinement in Ofer prison since he started the hunger strike on 24th December 2017. Rjoub a resident of Doura town in al-Khalil spent 23 years in Israeli jails more than 10 of which in administrative detention.
The Palestinian prisoner’s family appealed to human rights organizations to intervene and pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to release him affirming that he suffers from several chronic diseases.
