Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) on Friday said that the Palestinian hunger striking prisoner Sheikh Yusuf Albaz was transferred to the Raymond prison clinic after his health deteriorated.
The PPS told Quds Press that a state of tension prevailed in the Israeli prison due to the deterioration of Albaz’s health after he abstained from drinking water escalating his hunger strike.
Earlier on Thursday prisoner Albaz started his hunger strike in protest at his continued detention.
64-year-old prisoner Albaz preacher of the Grand Mosque in Lod is a father of six and has been detained since April 2022. Despite a previous court decision to release Sheikh Albaz Israeli Intelligence agents continue to detain him.
