An Israeli court on Monday allowed the transfer of hunger striking Palestinian prisoner Khalil Al-Awawdeh to a civilian hospital in view of the seriousness of his health condition.
According to the Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation 40-year-old Awawdeh who continues his hunger strike for the 82nd day was transferred to Assaf Harofeh hospital after his health condition deteriorated once again.
“Awawdeh was taken to the court by a wheelchair and his serious health condition was obvious” the Foundation underlined adding that Awawdeh could barely see or recognize his lawyer.
The Foundation held the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) responsible for the repercussions of rejecting Awawdeh’s demand for ending his administrative detention calling on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN Human Rights Council to pressure the IOA to end Awawdeh’s administrative detention.
