Delegations from 27 countries on Tuesday attended the opening ceremony of al-Quds Ash-Sharif Youth Capital 2018 Program which was launched in Ramallah by the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) an affiliate of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The participants in the three-day event announced the launch of a year of programs aimed at raising international awareness of the Palestinian question and supporting Palestinian youth to confront Israeli Judaization plots in the holy city.
The launch of the first Palestinian National Youth Council and the first meeting of Al Quds Ash-Sharif Youth Capital Council of Patrons consisting of OIC ministers and high-level representatives of heads of states are planned to take place on the sidelines of the event.
In August last year Jerusalem was officially announced as the “Islamic World’s Youth Capital” for 2018 by ICYF-DC.
The protocol for announcing Jerusalem as Youth Capital was signed at the time by Palestinian youth and sport minister Jibril Rajoub and ICYF-DC president Elshad Iskandarov in Istanbul.
