The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Tuesday decided to administratively detain Palestinian lawmaker Hasan Yousef a senior Hamas official who was redetained in early October following his release from Israeli jail.
Owais Hasan the lawmaker’s son said that a decision was issued by the IOA to administratively detain his father for six months.
The Israeli occupation forces kidnaped MP Yousef from home in Beitunia town west of Ramallah on October 2 and transferred him the military jail of Ofer.
Following 15 months in administrative detention the IOA had released the lawmaker in last July.
MP Yousef had spent a total of 21 years in Israeli jails mostly in administrative detention.
He suffers from some chronic health problems including diabetes and hypertension and needs special medical care according to his family.
Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge used by Israel as part of its suppression and persecution methods against the Palestinians.
Israel justifies the use of such type of imprisonment by claiming that administrative detainees plan to commit future offenses although it has no evidence to prove its claims against them.
