The Israeli occupation authorities (IOF) expropriated more than 11000 dunums of land in the Jordan Valley on Thursday in favor of what is called nature reserves.
Qassem Awad the director of documentation of IOA violations in the anti-settlement and wall committee said that the IOA announced the expropriation of 11200 dunums of Palestinian land to be added to three Israeli nature reserves in the Jordan Valley.
He warned that the IOA is planning to declare four new areas in the West Bank as nature reserves.
Awad pointed out that most of those alleged nature reserves are later allocated for building Jewish-only settlements noting that after the US declaration of the so-called Deal of the Century more than 12000 settlement units were declared by the IOA in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Jordan Valley is known as the food basket of Palestine and is considered the worst hit by the IOA annexation plan.
