IOA bans 27 Palestinians from crossing Allenby Bridge last week

Saturday 20-May-2017

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) prevented last week 27 Palestinian passengers from traveling abroad through Allenby (King Hussein) border crossing with Jordan.

According to the Palestinian Authority police on Saturday the passengers were denied travel for unexplained security reasons.

56 passengers were also apprehended by the PA police for legal reasons.

However about 32000 Palestinian citizens and visitors to Palestine were able to travel during the same period through the crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.

Allenby crossing also known as al-Karama is a bridge that spans the Jordan River and connects the West Bank with Jordan.

The bridge is the sole designated exit and entry point for West Bank Palestinians traveling in and out of the Israeli occupied territories.
