The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Sunday prevented a Palestinian citizen from the West Bank city of Jenin from travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah a minor pilgrimage that can be undertaken at any time of the year.
Mohammed Atiq told Wafa news agency that the IOA detained him at al-Karama crossing and interrogated him for hours before he was told that he is banned from travel for “security reasons”.
Al-Karama crossing is the only outlet connecting the West Bank with the outside world through Jordan.
