The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Sunday decided to tighten its blockade on the Gaza Strip and said that paid shipments of fuel would not be allowed in through the Karam Abu Salem border crossing.
The ministry of national economy in Gaza said that the IOA barred entry of 25 tanker trucks carrying fuel supplies for the sole power station in Gaza.
The IOA did not provide a reason for its decision which is likely to prompt the power plant to shut down some of its turbines and decrease the current hours of electricity distribution.
