BEIT HANOUN (PIC)– The IOA blocked on Tuesday a delegation from the Turkish international cooperation administration (TICA) affiliated with the prime ministry of Turkey from entering the Gaza Strip through the Beit Hanoun crossing to pay an official visit to the municipality of Beit Hanoun.
The delegation headed by the president of TICA was supposed to sign an agreement with the municipality of Beit Hanoun for the implementation of several development projects contributing to alleviating the suffering of Beit Hanoun people resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggressions.
For its part the municipality of Beit Hanoun considered this act a continuation of the policy of siege and isolation imposed by the IOA on the Palestinians.
The municipality hailed the Turkish efforts in support of the steadfastness of the Beit Hanoun people especially in the light of the Israeli aggressions on them pointing out that TICA had provided a range of relief and development projects in the Beit Hanoun town.
For his part Dr Mohamed Al-Kafarnah the mayor of Beit Hanoun town stated that the development projects supposed to be signed with TICA included building a municipal information center and a hall for meetings to be used to serve the municipality and the Palestinian people inside and outside Beit Hanoun charging the Israeli occupation of aborting any development project aimed at serving the Palestinian citizens in the town.
