The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has continued to bulldoze swaths of Palestinian land in Kardala hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley to carry out a project for Jewish settlers.
Local official Aref Daraghmeh said that the Israeli water company Mekorot started a few days ago under military protection to prepare the area for the building of a huge concrete tank to supply Jewish settlers with water.
Head of the Kardala council Ghassan Faqha said that Israeli bulldozers were leveling swaths of land in the southern area of the hamlet.
Faqha affirmed that there were fears among the local residents that such project would lead to the annexation of more of their lands in the area.
In another incident the IOA on Wednesday morning bulldozed about 30 dunums of Palestinian land in southern Nablus.
According to local sources the bulldozed lands are located in an area known as Kafr Atiya which is part of the towns of Qusra Jorish and Aqraba.
Ghassan Daghlas a Palestinian local official in charge of monitoring Israel’s settlement activity in the northern West Bank said that the IOA might intend to prepare the area for the establishment of a new settler outpost in the area.
