The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) confiscated on Saturday 250 dunums of Jalud village lands south of Nablus without allowing their owners the right to object.
“The IOA confiscated 250 dunums of Jalud village lands to build new commercial buildings and roads for settlements and settlers” according to Abdullah Haji Mohammad the village council head.
The confiscated lands according to Haji Mohammad are agricultural lands and the IOA will raze them and build infrastructure and settlement facilities in addition to a network of roads in their place.
He said that the decision to confiscate 250 dunums was not the first of its kind explaining that the IOA issued the first decision to confiscate 280 dunums to build 98 settlement units near Shvut Rachel settlement. 326 other dunums were then confiscated to build sewage and desalination plants for settlers he added.
Haji Mohammad warned of IOA attempts to legalize Palestinian land theft around Shvut Rachel settlement which will create a huge settlement bloc over an area of 16 thousand dunums.
