The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Monday decided to confiscate 616 dunums of Palestinian-owned lands to expand the settlement of Eileh south of the West Bank city of Nablus.
The IOA issued a decision to confiscate 616 dunums of Palestinian lands in Qaryut Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya and Sawiya towns in order to expand Eileh settlement according to Ghassan Daghlas in charge of settlements file in the northern area of the West Bank.
The illegal settlement of Eileh is one of the largest settlements in the West Bank. The IOA aims to expand it in order to link it to Shilo settlement.
Earlier today Israeli bulldozers razed Palestinian-owned lands as part of settlement expansion plans in Ein al-Baida area east of Masafer Yatta south of the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Around 666000 Jewish settlers live in 145 settlements and 140 settlement outposts established in the West Bank and Jerusalem according to the Israeli movement Peace Now.
