The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished a two-story building in the village of Beit Safafa to southeast of Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Local sources reported that large numbers of Israeli police forces cordoned off the house owned by Mohammad Joudah before demolishing it.

Furthermore Israeli police officers assaulted Joudah and his son before handcuffing them and bundling them into an Israeli military vehicle.

“Despite having a construction permit our house was demolished without a prior notice” Joudah’s wife Wedad said adding that they were heavily fined before obtaining the permit.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) nine Palestinian houses in Eastern Jerusalem and area C of the West Bank were demolished self-demolished or confiscated between the 19th of April 2022 and the 9th of May 2022 leaving 31 Palestinian civilians displaced.

Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Wednesday afternoon demolished a Palestinian house under construction in Jabal al-Mukabber village southeast of Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the 90-square-meter house belongs to the Palestinian citizen Saif ed-Din Jom’a.

According to the Palestinian Committee Against the Wall and Settlement the IOA has carried out 313 demolition operations since the start of 2020 54% of which were in Jerusalem and al-Khalil.
