The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Tuesday evening forced a Jerusalemite citizen to demolish his own house in Sur Baher town southeast of the holy city and displaced its residents mostly children.
According to local sources the IOA forced Bilal Dabsh to raze his home and threatened to make him incur heavy fines and demolition expenses if he had refused to carry out the measure.
“There is no other place to go to. They forced me to demolish my house tonight. I will sleep right over here because I cannot afford a rent” Dabsh sadly said.
He condemned the measure as “unjust and racist” and said it happened with no justification.
The homeowner appealed to all benevolent people to stand by him and help him find shelter for him and his family pointing out that the house was accommodating his five children six of his brother’s children and his parents.
The IOA had demolished about 61 Palestinian homes and structures in Jerusalem in the first half of the current year.
