The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Saturday morning displaced a Jerusalemite family after forcing it to demolish its own home in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Wadi al-Joz.
According to local sources the Israeli municipality in the holy city forced the family of Nader Jaber to demolish the house it had built 40 years ago at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
Recently Jaber received a notice from the municipality ordering him to knock down his home or pay a heavy financial penalty if he failed to comply with the measure.
Palestinians in east Jerusalem are forced to build without permits due to the Israeli municipality’s refusal to grant them building permits or approve zoning plans for their areas.
