OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Aqsa foundation that caters for Muslim holy shrines in Palestine has extremely condemned the wide excavations the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) was carrying out near the Buraq Plaza adding that such illegal works could jeopardize foundations of the Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement it issued Monday the foundation revealed that many ancient Arab and Muslim landmarks in the occupied city of Jerusalem near the Aqsa Mosque were totally demolished in a bid to distort its Muslim and Arab identity.
Those facts were authentic and based on the findings of a team from the foundation dispatched to vet the illegal Israeli diggings the foundation affirmed; adding that the team found out that the Israeli occupation government was behind such excavations.
According to the foundation findings the Israeli occupation government used heavy equipments and bulldozers in the excavation works adding that it had documented those excavations by photos.
Highlighting the serious results of such excavations on the Aqsa bases and the future of the occupied city of Jerusalem the foundation called on Arab and Muslim institutions and well as concerned international agencies to immediately intervene to stop such illegal diggings and to preserve Arab and Muslim identity of the occupied city.
Successive Israeli occupation governments had attempted to distort Muslim and Arab identity of the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem city and strived hard to judaize it since the holy city fell in Israeli hands in 1967.
