The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) extended on Thursday the administrative detention order of Jerusalemite MP Ahmed Atoun for four months.
Local sources reported that MP Atoun a deportee from Jerusalem was subjected to 4-month administrative detention sentence for the second time in a row.
Atoun was detained on the 1st of April 2022 after his home in Bethlehem was stormed. His arrest came only eight months after he completed an earlier 12-month administrative detention order. He spent in aggregate 16 years in Israeli prisons.
He had called on the Palestinian people to intensify their presence at the Al-Aqsa Mosque warning that the Israeli occupation is desperately trying to isolate the holy site and the Old City of Jerusalem and wipe out their Islamic and Palestinian landmarks.
The IOA had withdrawn Atoun’s Jerusalem ID card in 2010 and served him deportation order from his hometown Jerusalem.
