The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has extended the administrative detention of senior Hamas official Ra’fat Nassif 58 for the second consecutive time.
Asra Media Office said on Monday that an Israeli military court decided to extend the administrative detention of Nassif for an additional six months at the request of the Shin Bet intelligence service.
The Israeli occupation forces kidnaped Nassif from his home in Tulkarem last June but soon later an Israeli military court ordered his detention administratively for six renewable months.
His last arrest came only five months after his release from Israeli jails where he spent 23 months in administrative detention.
He had already spent a total of 20 years in Israeli jails mostly as an administrative detainee.
Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by Israel against the Palestinians solely at the pretext that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit and it is based on alleged secret files.
