The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Monday extended the detention of Jerusalemite photojournalist Mohamed Duwaik until next Wednesday.
The IOA arrested Duwaik at dawn Sunday after raiding his home in Beit Hanina Jerusalem and seized his cell phone and computer.
With the arrest of Duwaik the number of journalists detained in Israeli occupation prisons rises to 19 as part of the IOA attempts to muzzle and hinder journalists from performing their professional duties contrary to international and legal conventions that guarantee freedom of press and provide for its protection.
