Human rights sources on Friday revealed that Israeli military court of Ofer extended the administrative detention of the Palestinian prisoner journalist Nidal Abu Aker 52 for the fourth time in a row for 6 months.

The Israeli attorney general claimed that detainee Abu Aker who is from al-Duhaisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem constituted a security threat to the region and that he is one of the prominent leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Abu Aker was detained last August and has been subjected to repeated arrests in Israeli jails since 1982. He served over 16 years in Israeli prisons including 10 years under the illegal administrative detention without charges or trials.
