The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Saturday forced a Palestinian citizen and his son to demolish their own houses in Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
The demolitions led to the displacement of two families including women and children.
According to Wadi Hilweh Information Center the Israeli municipality forced Mohamed Abu Turki and his son to knock down their homes in Jabel Mukaber district east Jerusalem.
The homeowners had received many financial penalties since they built their homes years ago at the pretext that they had no construction permits.
“We will set up a tent at the site of my house and we will not allow the occupation to carry out its plots and expel us from our land” Abu Turki said.
The IOA always threatens to make Palestinian homeowners incur exorbitant demolition expenses and fines if it comes to carry out the demolitions forcing them to raze or remove their own homes.
