The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) in Jerusalem has forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his own house in Silwan district south of the Aqsa Mosque at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
Mahdi al-Abbasi the homeowner said the Israeli municipality forced him to knock down his house in which he lived with his wife pointing out that he had built it seven months ago.
Abbasi was given until August 20 to demolish the house with his own hands to avoid paying exorbitant money to the municipality if its crews had come to raze it.
The IOA has escalated its demolition campaign against Palestinian homes in recent months and displaced dozens of Jerusalemite citizens.
