The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) forced on Sunday a Palestinian citizen to demolish a section of his house in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan south of the Aqsa Mosque.
The owner Salah Abu Farha said that he had to demolish around 45 square meters of his home in Silwan after receiving a demolition notice from the Israeli municipality.
Abu Farah added that the municipality ordered him to raze that part of his house at his own expense if he wanted to avoid paying it exorbitant money if its demolition crew carried out the measure.
He affirmed that the municipality had prevented him from expanding the house and rejected an application he submitted to obtain a construction permit.
The IOA had demolished over 150 Palestinian homes in Jerusalem and the West Bank since the beginning of the current year rendering hundreds of citizens homeless.
