The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Friday forced a Palestinian citizen in Khilat Abd neighborhood of Abu Dis town east of Jerusalem to demolish his own home.
The homeowner Ibrahim Erekat said he had to demolish a residential structure he lived in with his family to avoid incurring a heavy penalty if Israeli bulldozers came and removed it.
For his part Bassam Bahar head of a local land defense committee said that the IOA plans to build a major road for settlers connecting illegal settlements around Occupied Jerusalem with each other.
Bahar added that the IOA had already notified many local residents living in the areas of the road project of its intents to demolish their homes and property.
