IOA gives the free rein for IOF troops to commit more killing in West Bank

Saturday 2-December-2006

Israeli security sources anticipated that the Israeli occupation government would approve a recommendation made by the Israeli occupation army and the various intelligence apparatuses to release the hands of IOF troops to carry out more arrests and killings in the West Bank.

According to the Hebrew radio those security apparatuses were gearing up to table the recommendation on Sunday during the Israeli cabinet meeting to ask the government not to restrict military operations of the IOF troops in the West Bank and to exclude the area from the truce.

The Israeli security sources alleged “Palestinians resorted to the truce as a tactical step only to gain time” stressing that IOF troops in the West Bank will not abide by the truce.

Palestinian resistance factions insisted that the truce which was promptly accepted by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) for the first time ever is applicable to the West Bank and warned that any IOF troops’ aggressions against West Bankers will deem the truce cancelled.

Israeli premier Ehud Olmert is expected to call for a meeting for his mini cabinet Sunday ahead of schedule to mull the proposal.

Meanwhile the number of Palestinian citizens killed at the hands of the IOF troops overnight Thursday and early Friday rose to two in the West Bank while the identity of a third one in Gaza Strip was identified after two weeks of his martyrdom in a clear IOF troops’ violation of the truce.

In the West Bank city of Al-Khalil Israeli occupation soldiers gunned down Palestinian citizen Bashar Al-Jabari 22 at dawn Friday.

According to the IOF troops Jabari attempted to hurl a Molotov bomb at the soldiers; but local Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses belied the Israeli allegations affirming that Jabari was on way to the Ibrahimi Mosque to perform the dawn prayer.

The IOF troops shot and killed a Palestinian child Esam Nayef Bani Shamseh 17 in Beita town south of Nablus Thursday night.

The Palestinian teenager along with other stone-throwing Palestinian youths was confronting the IOF troops’ incursion into the town with stones.

In the same context hospital sources in Gaza Strip identified the Palestinian citizen who was killed with IOF bullets two weeks ago at the Mintar crossing point as Ibrahim Abu Awwad 27 who according to his family was a job-seeker.

Awwad remained in the Shifa hospital’s morgue for two weeks before his family recognized him.

Prior to the truce popularity rate of Olmert and his war minister Amir Peretz fell to the lowest level ever which many political analysts attributed to their failure in thwarting Palestinian home-made missiles from rocking Sderot and nearby Israeli settlements in the western Negev region.
