OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli war minister Ehud Barak imposed a hermetic closure on the West Bank as of dawn Monday for three days to celebrate the Jewish feast of Purim the Hebrew radio reported.
It said that the closure would be lifted by midnight Wednesday and would only allow entry of Palestinians into the 1948 occupied Palestine for “humanitarian” conditions after coordinating with the Israeli liaison offices.
Meanwhile a group of Israeli settlers tried to enter the Aqsa Mosque on Monday disguised as foreign tourists.
Sources in the Mosque said that the group of 30 settlers wished to celebrate Purim in the Aqsa plazas but the attempt was foiled by the Aqsa guards and citizens.
In Nablus a similar attempt was made by Israeli settlers to pray inside the Nebi Yousef area east of Nablus city.
Local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces escorted those settlers to protect them.
IOF troops on Sunday evening stormed a number of Jenin and Tobas neighbourhoods and kidnapped two young men.
