IOA issues stop-work orders against Palestinian structures

Wednesday 19-October-2022

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Wednesday issued stop-work orders against two Palestinian structures in the West Bank governorate of Qalqilya.

Local sources reported that the IOA issued stop-work orders against two Palestinian agricultural structures belonging to the two Palestinian citizens Hamza Shahwan and Diya’ Nabris.

The IOA persists in issuing demolition orders against Palestinian homes in the West Bank and Jerusalem under the pretext of construction without permit.

Palestinians in Area C which constitutes 60 percent of the West Bank are not allowed to build any structures except with Israeli-issued construction permits which are usually not granted according to international organizations.

The 1995 Oslo II Accord established the administrative division of the West Bank into areas A B and C as a transitional arrangement pending a final status agreement. The divisions persist with Area A administered by the Palestinian Authority Area C by Israel and Area B under joint control.
