IOA prevents 69 West Bankers from travel

Saturday 1-July-2017

The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) prevented 69 Palestinians from traveling abroad via al-Karama crossing with Jordan last week under security pretexts.

The Palestinian police in Ramallah affirmed that the occupation authorities returned 69 Palestinians at the crossing over the past week under undeclared security pretexts.

Meanwhile nearly 60000 passengers managed to pass through al-Karama crossing in both directions over the same period.

63 passengers were also apprehended or denied travel by PA police during the same week for different legal reasons as they were trying to leave the West Bank through the crossing or upon their arrival.

Al-Karama crossing is considered the only outlet connecting the West Bank with the outside world.
