Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) began on Monday razing a Palestinian-owned land at the entrance to Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem which was earlier seized under the pretext of “public interest.”
Local sources reported that the IOA municipality crews and bulldozers began the bulldozing work on the confiscated land an area of about 4700 square meters owned by four Palestinian families and used as a parking lot and car wash.
The Israeli Supreme Court had issued the confiscation order by the end of October with the aim of establishing a park for a nearby Israeli illegal settlement. The Israeli municipality first issued a decision to seize the land in 2016.
