Thursday 10-August-2017

Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) demolished and shut down 41 Palestinian homes since the Jerusalem Intifada (uprising) erupted in October 2015 Abdullah al-Hourani Center for Studies reported.

In a report on Thursday the Center elaborated that 36 homes were knocked down and 4 others were closed by pouring concrete inside. A fifth house was closed by welding doors and windows.

Head of the Center Suleiman al-Wari opined that the IOA uses home-demolition policy as a collective punishment measure against Palestinians. It runs contrary to international laws as well as Geneva International Convention he highlighted.

In a statement on Thursday the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said that demolishing and shutting Palestinian homes in Deir Abu Mishaal and Silwad towns in Occupied Jerusalem in the morning proves that the IOA has failed to prevent the Jerusalem Intifada.

The PFLP called on official authorities and civil institutions to document the Israeli violations of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1544 and Geneva Fourth Convention as well as article 17 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that criminalizes the destruction of properties in order to prosecute Israeli leaders at the international courts.
